What engines are available?
Several engine options are available for the 2021 Cherokee, and each one provides you with the type of power that Cherokee fans love. The Latitude comes standard with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque, which pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission and your choice of either front-wheel or all-wheel-drive. Higher trims come with powerful options, including a 3.2-liter V6 that pumps out 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque or a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 270 horsepower and a massive 295 lb-ft of torque. Both of these options come with the nine-speed automatic as well. The V6 is standard on the Trailhawk. If you are looking to tow a ton of material, the Cherokee has you covered as it can haul up to 4,500 pounds.
What are some of the features for the Cherokee?
Five trim levels are available for the 2021 Jeep Cherokee, and no matter what one you go with, you are expected a ton of features. Kicking things off is the Latitude, which comes with power front windows, exterior mirrors with a heating element, supplemental turn signals, courtesy lamps, a rearview camera, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Latitude Plus adds to this with heated front seats, premium-wrapped heated steering wheel, remote start, keyless entry, and push-button start. There are several options available for the Latitude Plus, including dual-zone climate control, a power liftgate, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. This year, all-new to the Cherokee trim lineup is the Latitude Lux, which has some fantastic luxury features such as Nappa leather seats, power front seats with power lumbar adjuster, and a windshield wiper de-icer. Are you into off-roading? The Trailhawk is the trim for you as it comes with an advanced all-wheel-drive system, wider wheels and all-terrain tires, and increased ground clearance. Finally, the Limited trim adds even more premium features such as leather upholstery, an upgraded driver display in the gauge cluster, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen.
What are some of the safety features?
Safety is important to Jeep, and that’s why their vehicles have always backed up their amazing power with advanced safety systems. Coming standard is a Blind Spot Monitoring System with Rear-Cross Traffic Alert, which will monitor your blind spot and behind the Cherokee, so you back up easier and make safer lane changes. Also available is a Forward Mitigation System, which will warn you of an impending collision and even hit the brakes in certain situations. The last system we will talk about is the Lane Keeping Assist System, which will help steer the SUV back into its lane if it happens to drift outside the painted lines.
