Both of these SUVs are among the best on the market as they come with terrific engine options, tons of tech features, and some of the best-looking interiors anywhere. Whether one of these SUVs would make an excellent addition to your driveway or garage, but which one has the upper hand. To determine which one our experts think you should be driving home, continue reading our comparison below!
2022 Jeep Compass Power & Handling
When you look under the hood of the Jeep Compass, you’ll be treated to a solid 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that kicks out an astounding 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. We love this engine, and it will get you to where you want to go with ease. If you go with the Sport and the Latitude trim, the Compass comes standard with front-wheel-drive, though you do get the option for all-wheel-drive. Every one of the higher trims will come with all-wheel-drive. Want front-wheel-drive? Then the Compass will get a six-speed automatic transmission. Those with all-wheel-drive will get a nine-speed automatic transmission. The good news is both will provide you with an excellent ride. No matter where you travel, the Compass has your back!
2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer Power & Handling
There are a few engine options available for the Chevy Trailblazer, and you get some excellent power here. The standard engine option here is a turbocharged 1.2-liter four-cylinder that offers you 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque and pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive comes standard with this engine. If you want a little more added oomph, the Trailblazer has the option of a turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder that will increase both the horsepower and torque and comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission. These engines are good but not as good as the Compass.
2022 Jeep Compass Features & Design
With the 2022 Jeep Compass, you get five trim levels, and there are some features available on each that all passengers will enjoy. The base trim is the Sport which comes standard with18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, heated mirrors, roof rails, rear air vents, a cloth upholstery, and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. There is plenty of tech available for the Sport, such as an 8.4-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and satellite radio. You also get plenty of safety equipment such as forward collision mitigation and a blind-spot monitor. Then there is the Latitude which adds to this massive haul with foglights and automatic headlights, keyless entry and ignition, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. New to the Compass this year is the Latitude Lux trim, which comes with some terrific luxury items such as 18-inch wheels, a remote engine start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery, a giant 10.1-inch touchscreen, automatic wipers, ambient interior lighting, and dual-zone climate control. Want to go off-road? Then go with the Trailhawk trim as it has all the latest off-road equipment such as off-road-oriented tires, a raised suspension, hill descent control, a unique all-wheel-drive system, tow hooks, and underbody skid plates.
2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer Features & Design
The Trailblazer tries to keep up with what the Compass offers with four trim levels. The base trim is the LS, which comes with17-inch alloy wheels, a Wi-Fi hotspot, automatic high beams, a six-speaker audio system, and a 7-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The LT has more advanced features such as roof rails, LED foglights, heated mirrors, proximity keyless entry and push-button ignition, heated front seats, and a power driver’s seat. Like the Compass, the Trailblazer can go off-road thanks to the Activ trim, which has underbody skid plates and a tow hitch receiver. This trim also has simulated leather upholstery, a rear-seat armrest, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and unique styling elements. If you want more premium items, then you’ll want to go with one of the higher trims as they have 18-inch alloy wheels with standard tires and red-exterior accents. There is a lot to like here, but the Compass is a little more impressive.
While we think the Trailblazer puts up a good fight, it can’t compete with what the Compass offers. The engines for the Compass are more impressive, and we believe there are more advanced features for the Compass than for the Trailblazer.
