The 2022 Jeep Compass uses a 2.4L I-4 engine that supplies drivers with 177 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. Standard equipment for the Jeep Compass Sport and Latitude trims is a 6-speed automatic transmission that powers the front wheels. However, Jeep’s praised Active Drive 4×4 system with a 9-speed automatic transmission is available to these trims while standard on the Latitude, Latitude LUX, and Limited trims. This full-time 4×4 system uses a disconnecting rear axle to maximize fuel efficiency on ideal road conditions by driving just the front wheels and automatically engaging the rear wheels, driving all four when inclement road conditions are encountered. The Compass Trailhawk exclusively comes with Active Drive Low 4×4, which operates similarly but uses a two-speed transfer case with high and low mode to better handle a wider range of on and off-road conditions. In addition, both systems come standard with Jeep’s traction management system, Selec-Terrain. With Active Drive, it employs Snow, Sport, Sand/Mud, and Auto modes, while the Trailhawk adds Rock mode to optimize the systems for low-speed crawling control.

The 2022 Jeep Compass has loads of new features and equipment to make it stand out from the previous years. The reconfiguration of the center stack makes it more user-friendly and intuitive.  An 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen is now standard for the Compass, giving it the largest standard touchscreen in its class. Higher trim levels feature a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, five driver memory profiles, leather upholstery, heated seats/steering wheel, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, navigation with voice-activation and live traffic updates and more.
