What’s under the hood of the Jeep Gladiator?
There are two engines available for the Jeep Gladiator, and no matter which one you go with, you will get a massive amount of power. The standard option is a 3.6-liter V6 with a spectacular 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine pairs with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission, and both provide you with a smooth ride. The optional engine is a diesel-powered and turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that pumps out an incredible 260 horsepower and a solid 442 lb-ft of torque. A 5-foot bed and four-wheel-drive come standard, and if you’re looking to haul around a ton of material, you’ll find a lot to like about the Gladiator as it can tow 7,650 pounds with a payload capacity of 1,700 pounds which is the best in the class.
What are the available features for the Gladiator?
There are five spectacular trim levels available for the Gladiator, and you will get a ton of tech, luxury, and performance features. The base trim is the Sport which comes with cruise control, a manually adjustable tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an eight-speaker audio system, and a 5-inch central display with voice control capability. But wait, there is more! The Sport also has a soft folding top, removable doors, and a fold-down front windshield. Those who want more design features will get them with the Willy’s and Sport S trims. Next up is the Overland, which adds more unique features such as automatic headlights, power windows, heated power mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a 7-inch central display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Going off-road? Check out the Rubicon trim as it comes with all the latest off-road equipment such as a 4.10 rear axle ratio, 33-inch all-terrain tires, fenders with increased clearance, FOX shock absorbers, locking front and rear differentials, and body-protecting rock rails and skid plates. The Mojave trim allows you to cruise across the desert plains with features such as a reinforced frame, FOX internal bypass shock absorbers, and a Desert Rated badge.
Is the Gladiator a safe vehicle?
On top of being powerful and well-equipped, the Gladiator is also one of the safest vehicles around as you get several advanced safety features on each trim level. Available is a Blind-Spot Monitor with Rear-Cross Path Detection, which monitors the areas behind and beside the Gladiator, which allows you to see what’s behind you and make safer lane changes. Also available is an Adaptive Cruise Control system which will enable you to maintain a pre-set distance between the Gladiator and the vehicle in front of it. Last but not least is a Rear Park Assist System that has sonar sensors in the rear bumper, which detects objects behind you while you back into a parking space.
